How length, width, or thickness changes when the other two are varied

A run of twelve paired conditions asks how the third dimension of a board responds when two are changed together: shortening with thickening, thinning, widening or narrowing (13-16); lengthening with the same four (17-20); and thickening or thinning combined with widening and narrowing (21-24).
The manner of proposing the problem
A closing note gives the form in which such a problem should be stated: the given board shortening and thickening to given limits, what will be its width?
