Studies of a Horse's Legs and Hooves
Two red-chalk leg studies annotated with position labels
Two red-chalk studies of a horse's leg and hoof are drawn on the sheet, seen from slightly different angles. Small mirror-script labels mark the views: one leg is annotated 'inside' and 'in front', the other 'left'. The drawings concentrate on the sinews of the lower leg and the shape of the hoof.

Horse's leg labelled 'inside' and 'in front'
A single foreleg with its hoof is studied in red chalk, the lower tendons and fetlock carefully modelled. Position labels mark it as the inside and front view of the limb.
Second horse's leg labelled 'left'
A second leg and hoof are drawn beside the first, longer and more shaded, seen from a different angle. A short label marks it as the left limb.
