Spring bolts (chiavistelli con molle)
Pen studies of spring-loaded latch and bolt mechanisms
The sheet is filled with pen studies of bolt-and-latch mechanisms, captioned in the source record as 'chiavistelli con molle' (bolts with springs). Two horizontal bolt assemblies are drawn, each fitted with curved springy arms that coil into scrolls at their free ends, so a spring can drive or return the bolt. Cross-shaped keeper plates and hooked catches accompany the mechanisms, and the lower assembly is worked up with hatched shading. No accompanying prose was transcribed for this page.

Spring-loaded bolt and latch assemblies
Two horizontal sliding bolts are shown, each engaged by a curved springy arm that coils into a scroll at its free end, so the spring drives or returns the bolt. Hooked catches and cross-shaped keeper plates are drawn alongside. The lower device is finished with hatched shading to suggest a solid, worked-up mechanism.
