Headings 623 to 631 treat the variety of shadows as the sizes of the lights that make them vary, shadow that turns into light and light that turns into shadow (625-626), and how shadows must always share the colour of the shadowed body (628).
Which surface takes most colour, brightness and shadow
Headings 632 to 639 ask which part of a body's surface is best imprinted with the colour of the object facing it, where the colours of objects mingle (633), which part is of middling shadow (634), which illuminated part is brightest (635), and which body takes on the most shadow or the most light (638-639).
