Derivative light and a figure's shifting shadows
The opening rubrics treat the brightness of derivative light and how a person's shadows vary as they move toward or away from one and the same light. Further entries ask how a body's shadowed part grows or shrinks with its nearness to the light, and which body neither gains nor loses shadow at any distance.
Shadows cast within a single-window room
Later rubrics concern scattered bodies in a dwelling lit by one window, whose derivative shadows lengthen or shorten according to their position relative to the window. A final entry states that a shadowy body smaller than its light source casts derivative shadows tinted with the color of their origin.
