Light Rays Crossing to Form a Shaded Region
Optical diagrams of rays past a central body and of crossing lines meeting at a shaded point
The leaf carries several paragraphs of Leonardo's mirror-script, present but not transcribed in this bundle, framing two ink diagrams. The upper figure draws two straight rays from points at the top down past a small circle marked m to a point below, sweeping an arc like a cone of light or field of vision. The lower figure shows straight lines crossing in an X, with a small hatched triangle at their intersection and letter and number labels along the edges, illustrating how crossing rays leave a bounded region of shadow. Further writing in a later hand runs across the foot of the sheet.

Rays converging past a central body m
Two straight lines descend from marked points at the top of the page, passing a small circle labelled m, and meet at a point lower down while an arc closes off the figure. The construction reads as a cone of rays or a visual pyramid narrowing toward a single point.
Crossing rays and a shaded intersection
Straight lines cross one another in an X pattern, with a small hatched triangle drawn where they meet and letters and numerals set at the ends of the lines. The figure demonstrates how rays crossing between edges produce a bounded region of shade.
Untranscribed text on light and shade
Blocks of Leonardo's mirror-script surround the two diagrams and continue in a later hand along the foot of the leaf. The bundle supplies no transcription, so the wording is not given here.
