Leonardo's mirror-script fills the leaf, present but not transcribed in this bundle, around three small ink sketches. At upper right a circle drawn with radiating strokes acts as a luminous source and sends lines down onto a small ball, a study of how a body is lit. Lower on the page a sphere hangs by a thread from a horizontal bar with a crescent shape drawn beside it, suggesting the lit and shadowed portions of a sphere. Annotations in a later hand border the top and foot of the leaf.
