Household Accounts of 29 January 1494
Expenses for cloth, a jasper ring and Salaì, with questions on a building's measurements
The page opens in pen with three questions about a building — how many braccia high the level of the walls stands, how wide the hall is, and how wide the ghirlanda (cornice moulding) is. It then turns, in red chalk, to a dated account. Under 'On the 29th of January 1494' Leonardo lists small sums in lire and soldi: cloth and lining for hose, tailoring, payments for Salaì and twice for Caterina, a jasper ring, and a 'star-stone,' with the figures 30 ducats and a measurement in braccia heading the column.
