The upper half of the sheet carries a square plan of a fortified enclosure, identified in the notebook's caption only tentatively as the castle of Milan, its top side formed by a wall carrying towers. The lower half gathers separate studies of fortification particulars, including a row of battlements, a stockade of vertical stakes, and hatched sections that read as walls or ramparts. No running text accompanies these sketches in the transcription, only descriptive captions.
