Fulling-Mill Shaft and a Prophecy of Lies
A cammed shaft for paper stamps above one of Leonardo's prophecies
The upper drawing shows a horizontal shaft studded with square cams and turned by a crank-wheel, set above a plainer second axle, captioned the shaft of the fulling-stamps for paper. Below runs one of Leonardo's prophecies: all things hidden under the winter snow are laid bare in summer, said of the lie that cannot stay concealed.
