The catalogue calls the contents of this leaf indeterminate figures. At the top Leonardo sketches a mechanism - a shaft passing through a wheel or ball, with cranked ends and small projecting rods, like a roller or windlass. Below, a rounded form is divided into three by a Y-shaped junction, and to the right hangs a ribbed, elongated pod resembling a seed-pod or gourd.
