Fortifications with hay bales

The leaf carries two pen sketches of fortification works, drawn upside-down relative to the notebook's normal orientation. The e-Leo caption identifies them as fortifications, and the only transcribed words are the twice-repeated label "fieno" (hay) written beneath the lower structure. The upper drawing shows a low rampart or emplacement seen from two viewpoints, and the lower shows a framed structure with two circular elements at its base flanked by broad hatched panels, the hay evidently packed as a defensive buffer.
