Study of a wind-driven mill
The drawing sets out a windmill vertically: sails across the top, a domed cap, a central shaft carrying horizontal gearing, and a broadening body that steps down to a wheel at the base. It is a working study of the mill's driving mechanism rather than of its housing.
Lines of the wind about the mill
At the lower right a set of lines radiates from a point, suggesting the directions from which the wind may strike the mill. The marks are summary and are called indeterminate in the transcription.
