Rule for the width of a column's plinth
The latastro must be as broad as the thickness of the wall it rests on
A single column with capital and moulded base is drawn upright at the center of the page. The accompanying note gives a rule of proportion: the latastro — the plinth or dado at the column's foot — must be as wide as the thickness of whatever wall on which it rests. Faint wavy contour lines drift across the upper sheet.
