Rotating cap carrying the sails
The conical roof is a turning cap that mounts the sail arms, drawn at the left of the tower, so the whole head can be brought round to the wind. Inside the tower a central boxed fitting marks the head of the drive.
Mill tower: opening and wall thickness
The masonry tower is dimensioned with an interior opening of 7 1/2 braccia and a wall one and a quarter braccia thick. These figures set the scale of the round building that houses the mill.
