Memoranda: things to buy, books to fetch, errands, and a debt
A list of goods and errands, and a jotting on the value of a sealed florin
Folio 1v is a page of memoranda in mirror script, with no drawings. A single column lists things to obtain or attend to — tapestry cloth, a pair of compasses, books belonging to Maso and to Giovanni Benci, a chest at the customs house, clothing to be cut and mended, reeds, a debt for a tablecloth, a bag for swimming, and a book of blank paper with charcoal for drawing. In the upper-left corner a further jotting asks the worth of a sealed florin and notes a leather jerkin.

The column runs through purchases, loans and chores: tapestry cloth, compasses, two borrowed books, a chest in the customs house, a garment to be cut, a sword belt, boots to be re-soled, a light hat, reeds from the Casacce, the debt for a tablecloth, a swimming bag, a book of white paper for drawing, and charcoals.
The worth of a sealed florin
A separate note in the upper-left corner asks how much a fiorino di suggello — a sealed florin — is worth. It records alongside it a leather guardacore, a close-fitting body-garment or jerkin.
