Light, Eye and Object: Three Arrangements
How a luminous body, the eye and an object may be positioned relative to one another
Two diagrams work through the possible arrangements of a light source, the eye and an object. In the first, a luminous body a lights a half-shaded object c while the eye b looks on, and the note lists three orderings: the eye between light and body, the light between eye and body, and the body between eye and light. In the second, the eye a is set to view the darkened side of a body b that is lit from the far side by the luminous body c.
