Caricature busts with bulbous noses, a long braid, and hoods
A plate of four grotesque head studies numbered 25 to 28, each a caricatured bust in profile. The figures include a toothless open-mouthed man, a bald head with a long trailing braid, a pointed-nosed head in a long-lappeted hood, and a heavy-featured figure in a wimple-like headscarf. All exaggerate the nose, mouth, and jaw in the 'teste grottesche' manner. No accompanying text is transcribed for this sheet.

Toothless man with jutting lips (study 25)
An aged profile faces right, the sunken mouth open with a protruding tongue and few teeth. Fine hatching models the lined cheek and the loose collar at the shoulders.
Bald head with long braid (study 26)
A bald, domed head faces right with a long plaited braid falling behind, the nose swollen and bulbous over a toothless mouth. A gathered garment drapes the shoulder.
Long-nosed head in lappeted hood (study 27)
A profile faces left showing an extraordinarily long pointed nose and receding mouth, beneath a soft hood whose long lappet hangs down the front. The bust is lightly drawn to the shoulder.
Heavy face in headscarf (study 28)
A broad, fleshy face faces right, framed by a wimple-like headscarf gathered at the neck. The bulbous nose, heavy brow, and creased cheeks are strongly modeled.
