Grotesque Heads: Four Caricatured Busts (nos. 33-36)
Four aged, exaggerated profile heads mounted in a grid
Four head studies complete the series in a two-by-two grid, each numbered in ink in its upper corner (33, 34, 35, 36). All are grotesque profile busts of old faces, ranging from a faint small sketch to a powerfully modeled curly-haired head. No text accompanies the drawings apart from the plate numerals.

Bearded old man with earring (no. 33)
The upper-left panel shows a profile bust facing right of a wrinkled old man with a sparse beard and a hoop earring. His sagging cheek and lined brow are drawn in fine, delicate strokes.
Hook-nosed toothless head (no. 34)
The upper-right panel is a profile bust facing left of an aged figure with a strongly hooked nose and a sunken, toothless mouth. A mass of bushy hair gathers at the back of the head above bare shoulders.
Small faint hooded profile (no. 35)
The lower-left panel holds only a small, faintly drawn profile head facing right, set high on the otherwise blank sheet. The snub nose and soft cap are sketched in the lightest outline.
Powerful curly-haired head (no. 36)
The lower-right panel is the most strongly modeled study on the sheet, a profile bust facing left of a robust man crowned with a thick mass of tight curls. The heavy brow, jutting lips, and dense hatching give the head great sculptural force.
