Head of a Young Woman with Flowing Hair
An idealized youthful head turned toward the viewer with long wavy locks; a later inscription below
The sheet shows the finely finished head of a young woman turned three-quarters toward the viewer, her face softly modelled and her long wavy hair falling loosely to either side. The drawing is worked in delicate silverpoint or chalk with careful hatching in the shadows. At the lower left the sheet carries a later inscription giving an attribution, and a small collector's mark appears at the lower right; this writing is not transcribed here. No autograph notes accompany the study.

Idealized head of a young woman
A youthful female head is turned gently toward the viewer, the gaze lowered and the lips faintly parted. Long, rippling hair frames the rounded face and spills over the shoulders. Soft hatching models the cheeks, eyelids and neck, lending the head a polished, idealized character.
