Pen-and-ink caricatures of three men with exaggerated profiles
Three caricatured male heads are drawn in pen and ink on a single sheet. At upper left a man wears a tall pointed cap with a hanging tress and thrusts out an open, jutting mouth; at upper right a fierce old man with a hooked nose and a tuft of hair shouts, wrapped in a hooded cape; below, an old man in a soft beret shows a heavy jaw and bulbous nose in profile. Such grotesque heads explore the extremes of human physiognomy and expression.

Man in a tall pointed cap with a hanging tress
A man is shown in profile to the right wearing a tall, pointed cap from which a braided tress of hair hangs down. His features are exaggerated into a caricature, with a jutting brow, sunken mouth and prominent chin above a collared garment.
Shouting old man in a hooded cape
At upper right an old man is drawn in left profile with a fiercely open, shouting mouth. His hooked nose, deeply furrowed face and a tuft of hair at the crown are set above a heavy hood or cape drawn over the shoulders.

Below the other two a man is shown in profile to the right wearing a soft, rounded beret. His large hooked nose, heavy jaw and downturned mouth are exaggerated in the manner of a grotesque head, the shoulders indicated with a few loose strokes.
