Profile head of an old bearded man
Sanguine study of an aged man's head turned to the right
An elderly man is drawn in profile, turned to the right, his brow, hooked nose and sunken cheek firmly modelled in red chalk with dense parallel hatching. The shoulder and a suggestion of drapery are laid in below the head. An old ink inscription runs along the lower edge of the sheet (untranscribed here) and the collection stamp of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana appears at the lower right.

Head of an aged man in profile
The old man's head is turned sharply to the right, the strong nose, lined brow and heavy jaw built up in close red-chalk hatching. Below the neck a few lines indicate the shoulder and the fall of a garment.
