Aged male face with heavy features, seen nearly frontally
A red-chalk study of an elderly man's head, seen almost frontally with a slight turn, showing a broad, deeply wrinkled face, heavy jowls, pouched eyes and a balding, close-cropped head. The paper is torn and creased down the right side of the face, and a small inked collector's stamp sits at the lower right. Lines of later ink writing run along the upper and lower margins; these annotations were not part of the transcribed material and are noted only as present.

Frontal head of an aged man
The sheet is dominated by the head of an old man modelled in red chalk, with the deep furrows of the brow, sagging cheeks and drooping mouth carefully worked up. The neck and a hint of the shoulders are laid in more lightly below. The result reads as a character study of advanced age rather than an idealized portrait.
Later inscriptions and collector's mark
Lines of later ink writing appear along the upper edge and beneath the drawing; these annotations are not included in the bundle transcription and are noted here only as present. A small inked collector's stamp is set into the lower-right area of the sheet.
