The sheet carries two separate figure studies drawn in fine metalpoint on blue prepared paper. At the left is the head of an adult inclined downward and turned toward the left, the features softly modelled in delicate parallel hatching; at the right is the head and shoulders of a young child seen nearly frontally and gazing to the side. Each study bears a small collector's stamp along the lower edge. No text accompanies the drawings.

Head of an adult inclined downward
The left half of the sheet shows a close-cropped head turned three-quarters to the left and tilted down, the brow, cheek and lips built up in delicate parallel hatching. The eyes are half-lowered and the modelling concentrates on the soft transitions of cheek and jaw.
Head of a young child
The right half presents the head and upper chest of a young child, the rounded face turned slightly toward the viewer with large open eyes and softly indicated ear and hair. The contours are lightly drawn and the shading models the fullness of the infant's cheek and neck.
