A bald-crowned elderly man is shown in right profile, head and shoulders rendered in red-brown ink, with a loose mass of curls at the crown and temple and a lined, aged face ending in a strong hooked nose and jutting chin. A few contour lines across the chest and shoulder indicate a garment, and a faint second contour is sketched below. A small squared geometric jotting appears near the lower right corner. The drawing belongs to Leonardo's repertoire of profile character heads.
