He argues that pure, illuminated air can receive without any lapse of time every likeness of the bodies struck by the sun's rays, and that every point of the air sees the bodies opposite it while every point of a body sees all the air. The reciprocity is pressed to its limit: each point of air holds all the images of the bodies it sees, and each body holds the whole likeness of the air facing it.
