The Mirror Image Takes the Colour of Its Mirror
A single line on reflection at the head of an otherwise blank leaf
This otherwise blank verso bears only a single line of Leonardo's mirror-script at the top, an optical observation that the image impressed in a mirror partakes of the colour of that mirror. The British Museum collection stamp ("B.M.") is impressed at upper left, and faint show-through from the facing leaf is visible; no further inscription is present.

The image impressed in a mirror partakes of the colour of that same mirror. The reflected likeness is thus tinted by the reflecting surface rather than shown in the object's pure hue.
