Square circumscribing a circle, with diagonals
The upper right of the recto bears a large square enclosing a circle, crossed by internal lines that connect its corners and sides. It reads as a construction relating the areas or proportions of the circle and its enclosing square.
Square inscribed diagonally within a square
Lower on the recto a smaller square is drawn rotated inside an outer square so that its corners touch the mid-sides, a standard construction for halving a square's area. Nearby small triangulated figures repeat the study of straight-line constructions.
Columns of numbers and proportion figures
The central and right parts of the recto carry numeral jottings and fraction-like expressions set beside the geometric figures, consistent with proportional calculation. No transcription is provided to read them.
