Both leaves of this opening (104v and 107r) are filled with small figures rather than transcribed text. Numerous small circles and spheres, some ringed by lines, are drawn alongside triangles and elongated cones of rays that run across the sheet. The captions record only the presence of figures; the extensive mirror-script writing that surrounds them is not transcribed in the edition treated here, so no reading of the words is given.

Circles and spheres with radiating lines
The sheet is scattered with small round bodies and spheres, several encircled or crossed by fine radiating lines, of the kind Leonardo used to study how light and shadow fall on rounded bodies. No transcription accompanies them here, so the figures are described only from what is drawn.
Triangles and elongated cones of rays
Long triangular and cone-shaped ray figures span the leaves, tapering from broad bases to fine points. They set out the geometry of lines converging to and diverging from a point.
