No transcription accompanies this opening. The left leaf (folio 112v) carries a cluster of freehand diagrams: curved arcs crossed by radiating lines, a fan of straight lines converging to a point, several small circular figures, and a boxed perspectival sketch at the lower edge. The right leaf (folio 115r) is filled with close-written mirror-script text that has not been transcribed, together with a few small circles at the margins. The material appears to concern light, rays and geometric construction, but without the text any reading remains tentative.

Radiating ray-fans and curved arcs
The left leaf is worked over with curved arcs crossed by bundles of straight lines and a broad fan of lines converging to a single point. The pattern is of the kind Leonardo uses for rays of light or sight spreading from or gathering to a focus, though no caption survives to fix the subject.
Circles and a boxed perspectival sketch
Scattered among the ray diagrams are several small circles and, at the lower edge, a small boxed construction drawn in perspective. Dense mirror-script notes fill the facing leaf but were not transcribed for this record.
