The angle of a gun's shot laid out in braccia so the ball falls into the middle of the ditch
A drawing works out the firing angle of a piece of artillery, labelling the lengths S t (3 braccia), v t (8 braccia), a n (2/3 braccio) and n h (16 braccia) so that the shot falls into the middle of the ditch. Columns of numbers in pen, set down with the sheet turned upside down, and further pencil calculations occupy the lower part of the leaf. The sheet also carries untranscribed sketches: stacked and boxed forms drawn in perspective, a small mechanical device at upper right, a row of pointed arches, and a large arched outline faintly drawn in pencil at the foot.

The trajectory is set out by the lettered points m, a, S, n, t, v, h. The measured spans are S t = 3 braccia, v t = 8 braccia, a n = 2/3 braccio and n h = 16 braccia, the last chosen so that the shot 'falls into the middle of the ditch.' The long converging lines across the sheet fix the geometry of the shot.

Written with the sheet turned upside down, a short column of numbers in pen reads 28, 17, 45, and then a group of 4s. These are jotted apart from the artillery diagram.
