A word-list from letter and syllable to the eight parts of speech
The upper half of this leaf carries a grammar lesson headed GRAMMATICA. It first divides speech into letter, syllable, word (dictio) and sentence (oratio), then lists the parts of speech — noun, verb, participle, pronoun, preposition, adverb, interjection and conjunction — each with example words. A small wheel-and-cord device is sketched at the left; the fainter balance and mechanical diagrams across the lower half are largely offsets showing through from the recto.
