Ornamental Designs and a Note on Springs
A knotted candelabrum, a decorative panel of rosettes and scrollwork, and a memorandum on springs.
The sheet is filled with decorative designs: a candelabrum-like finial wrapped in rope-knot interlace beneath a foliate crown, and a rectangular ornamental panel worked with paired rosettes, palmette sprays, spiral volutes and a closing band of circular whorls. A single line of mirror-script set among the ornament is a maker's note directing that the springs be made hard and of equal force. The pen ornament is firmly drawn while the writing is faint.
