Verso: faint machine offset and later additions
Show-through of the recto engine, with three non-autograph sketches and a name
Before restoration this side of the sheet was invisible; it now shows chiefly the faint mirror offset of the geared roof-engine drawn on the recto. The catalogue note records that it also carries three small drawings that are not by Leonardo, the word 'Simone', and a further mutilated word along the margin of the sheet. No autograph text is present.

Offset of the recto's geared engine
Most of the visible imagery is a faint show-through of the toothed wheel, vertical shaft and building drawn on the recto. No independent mechanism is worked out on this side of the leaf.
Later name and marginal word
The catalogue records a small inscription reading 'Simone' together with three minor drawings, plus a mutilated word at the margin. These additions are not in Leonardo's hand.
