A small pen sketch, invisible before the sheet's restoration and carrying no writing, shows a pivoting-arm sling engine of the trebuchet type: a long beam rocks on a vertical post braced by a splayed timber trestle, with a looped sling at the upper end of the arm and a large curved sling or basket swinging on the opposite side.

Trebuchet-type sling engine
The drawing sets a long throwing arm on a pivot carried by a vertical post and a wide splayed trestle of crossed timbers. A rope sling loops from the raised end of the arm, while a large curved sling or counterweight hangs at the lower end, in the manner of a trebuchet or traction siege engine.
