A large lifting engine drawn in pen and ink dominates the leaf. A horizontal beam at the top carries pulley blocks, a screw or windlass and suspended tackle, from which a load-gripping frame hangs at the left; below, a stout vertical column braced by raked struts and guy-ropes rises from a broad footing to form the mast of the hoist. A numeral '40' is written at the centre and small block details appear at the right; the catalogue record notes the sheet bears no text.

Windlass beam and hoisting tackle
Across the top a horizontal beam carries pulley blocks and a screw-and-windlass arrangement. Ropes descend to a rectangular gripping frame at the left and to further blocks, forming the reeving of a heavy-lift hoist.
Braced central mast on a broad footing
A tall vertical column stands on a wide base and is steadied by raked struts and guy-ropes splayed to the ground, giving the machine the rigidity needed to raise heavy loads on a work site. Small stacked-block details at the right appear to record the load or its masonry.
