One mounted fragment is effectively blank; the other is covered with dense columns of figures - long products, squarings and fractions such as 3/6, 4/8 and 12/48. The transcription records that these numbers and operations are set over male profiles that are not in Leonardo's hand, and undulating outlines run through the calculations. The whole side reads as a working sheet of calculations laid over earlier, alien drawings.
