Mirror figure and tools: drawing, rod-making and sawing
A labelled speculum with devices for pulling, winding wire and sawing
The sheet combines a labelled figure of a mirror (speculum) with several small tools and instruments and, at the right, the same large fan of converging rays seen on the recto. A screw device on the left is captioned as a way of drawing or pulling, a coil-winding instrument as a way of making small rods, and an inverted saw as a way of sawing. The mirror figure carries the labels a a a and 3. Together the sketches belong to Leonardo's studies of making and using curved mirrors.
