Mould Core and Mantle for Casting the Horse; Number Table
Four mounted fragments: iron armature for a bronze mould, mechanisms, and a place-value table
Four fragments are mounted together: an ink-and-wash drawing on a blue-tinted sheet and three red-chalk or ink mechanical sketches, plus a small numeric table. The transcribed notes concern casting: iron bars and bolts held fixed in the mould core, and half-circles fastened into the mantle so they can be drawn from the bronze once the horse is shown. A short columnar table pairs three-figure numbers with their tenfold values, and the sketches show roller-, bar- and belt-driven mechanisms.

Iron armature in the mould core and mantle (a, c, b, d)
The irons a c b d and their bolts are to stay fixed in the core; when the horse is shown, the bolts, which are thinner on one side, are drawn out. Half-circles are then set into the mantle and fastened with sunken bolts so that they may afterwards be pulled easily from the bronze, these circles and bolts being made thick.

A companion diagram carries the letter groups e d c, l i o, b a, m K n and h g f. The note states simply that the iron a b will be the one that stays fixed.
Place-value number table
A short columnar table pairs three-figure numbers with their tenfold values: 003 with 300, 004 with 400, and so on up to 009 with 900, then 1000, 1100 and 1200 (written in reversed form as 0001, 0011, 0021). It sets out a scale of decimal place value.
Mounted mechanical sketches
The mounted fragments carry red-chalk and ink sketches of mechanisms built from rollers, bars and belt- or band-driven wheels, with a row of small elements along the top of the blue-tinted sheet. No transcribed text describes these particular drawings.
