Fortress towers and bastions, with a column of sums
Round bastioned towers, domed keeps and defensive plans; a short addition totalling 95
The sheet is crowded with studies of round bastioned towers, domed keeps and fortified enclosures with battlemented walls, drawn both in perspective and in plan. The only text transcribed here is a short column of figures at the left that adds up to 95. A great deal of further writing, dimension labels and construction lines cover the page but are not transcribed in this bundle.
On this page
A column of figures totalling 95
At the left a stacked list of numbers is summed: 50, 6, 12, 12, 1, 1, 10 and 3, giving a total of 95. It reads as a running addition.
Round bastioned towers
Cylindrical bastioned towers and squared bastion plans are drawn across the sheet, some set into battlemented curtain walls. Several appear as bird's-eye plans of circular and quadrangular defensive works.
Domed keeps in perspective
The upper left and lower right show tall cylindrical keeps capped by low domes and battlements, drawn in perspective. They read as fortress architecture rather than plain buildings.
