Household accounts and the death of ser Piero da Vinci, 1504
Daily disbursements in ducats to Tomaso and Salai, and a note of his father's death
A ledger-like sheet, largely a running record of daily expenses in ducats between the feast of St. Peter (29 June) and early August 1504, with sums given to Tomaso the servant and to Salai, and payments for a doublet, a cap, a hosier, and personal spending. In the right-hand block Leonardo notes, twice, that ser Piero da Vinci died on Wednesday at the seventh hour on 9 July 1504, and records taking ten ducats from the cash-box on Friday 9 August. There are no drawings; the writing is in mirror script.

Daily disbursements in ducats, June to August 1504
Beginning on St. Peter's day (29 June 1504) Leonardo records taking ten ducats and paying out one at a time, mostly to Tomaso and to Salai for household spending, sometimes one ducat less ten or six soldi. Larger outlays go for a doublet, a doublet and cap together (2 ducats), and to the hosier. On 19 July he notes seven ducats and twenty-two remaining in the cash-box.
The death of ser Piero da Vinci
In the right-hand block Leonardo writes that ser Piero da Vinci died on Wednesday at the seventh hour, on 9 July 1504, repeating that it was Wednesday near the seventh hour. Immediately below he records taking ten ducats from the cash-box on Friday 9 August 1504.
