Rapid pen studies of gears, drums and a crane, with a quadrature diagram
This broad sheet is crowded with rapid pen sketches of geared mechanisms — toothed wheels, drums, cranks and a large curved crane arm — laid down freely across the page. Near the centre a small oval enclosing a looping curve is a geometry study, which the catalogue links to quadrature problems: squaring the triangle and the circle, quadrature obtained by motion, and equivalent polygons. Two brief inscriptions survive, and a small rosette is sketched at the lower left.

Circle-squaring (quadrature) figure

Below the principal mechanism a short Latin fragment, 'In nomini', is written; a separate, cancelled sketch is annotated 'below'.
