Faint defensive devices revealed by restoration
A leaf catalogued as blank; ghostly forms of a hoof-guard, caltrops and a bombard
The Ambrosiana record notes this verso was invisible before restoration and was catalogued as bearing no writing or drawings. Faint metalpoint forms are nonetheless now discernible: a tall triangular frame at centre, a small wheeled device at upper left, and an indistinct clustered blob, with traces of writing too faint to read. Scholarly tags for the sheet associate it with defensive spikes and caltrops, a device to protect a horse's hoof, and a bombard. Further untranscribed marks remain present but unrecoverable.

Tall triangular frame at centre
A faint, tall triangular (pyramidal) frame stands at the centre of the sheet, drawn in thin lines with internal bracing. Its function is not legible, but the form resembles a light support or hoisting frame. The lines are ghostly and only partly recoverable after restoration.
Small wheeled device at upper left
At the upper left a small mechanism is faintly drawn, apparently incorporating a wheel or disc mounted on an upright. It sits beside an indistinct clustered form. Both are barely visible against the discoloured ground.
Indistinct defensive forms
The Ambrosiana's scholarly tags link the sheet to caltrops and spikes, a hoof-protecting device, and a bombard. A faint clustered blob at left and other traces are consistent with such small defensive objects, though they cannot be read with certainty and no accompanying text has been transcribed.
