Mechanical device, a flower, and calculations
A vertical mechanism in pen, a red-chalk flower, paired words, and columns of figures.
A tall pen mechanism stands at the lower left, an upright device with a central shaft, projecting bars, and a domed housing on a stepped base, captioned only as a mechanical device. Across the upper half a large red-chalk flower with scrolled petals hangs from a curling leafy stem. Rows of numerals fill the right side, with a small ringed set of figures at the top corner, while a short red-chalk note sets down words in near-synonym pairs. Faint red-chalk writing also runs down the left margin of the mechanism.

Vertical mechanical device
A tall pen drawing at the lower left shows an upright mechanism with a central shaft, projecting arms or bars, and a domed housing set on a stepped base. The caption identifies it only as a mechanical device. Faint red-chalk words run down its left margin.
A flower with a curling stem
A large red-chalk flower with radiating, scrolled petals hangs from a curved leafy stem across the upper half of the sheet. The bundle labels it simply 'a flower'. It is the most finished drawing on the page.
Columns of figures
Several rows of numerals in red chalk are set down as blocks of figures, with a small ringed group at a top corner. The caption places these calculations on one side of the sheet. They read as tallies or working sums.
Paired words / synonym glosses
A short red-chalk note sets down words in pairs, such as 'true — certain'. The caption marks it as written on the right. It reads as a small list of near-synonyms or glosses.
