A falcon holds the balance-wheel (bilanciere) of a clock in its beak, set beside the word 'tempo' (time). A small sum, 30 multiplied by 40 to give 1200, is written alongside the device.
Attitudes of figures gathered at a table
In pen Leonardo describes the postures of several figures: one rests his hands on the table and looks on, another blows on his mouthful, another stoops to see the speaker while shading his eyes with his hand, and another draws back and sees the speaker between the wall and the man bending forward.
