This leaf carries a short facezia (jest) in red chalk, headed by the folio number 31. A man is urged to leave his bed because the sun has already risen, and he retorts that if he had as long a journey and as much business to do as the sun, he too would already be up; but since his own road is so short, he does not yet wish to rise. Faint offset traces of writing from the facing leaf show through at the top of the page.

Told to get up because the sun is already risen, a man answers that if he had to make as long a journey and as much business as the sun, he too would already be up. But since he has such a short way to go, he says he does not yet wish to rise. The point is a comic excuse for idleness.
