A support cannot break while its centre of gravity stands perpendicular over its base
A short mechanical note, illustrated by a small diagram of a weight resting on a post-like support at the right, states that it is impossible to break a support whose centre of gravity is placed above it, because that centre falls perpendicular over the centre of its base.
