Written upside-down on the leaf, a note of casting proportions: 16 pounds of dry earth (mould material) to 100 pounds of metal; wet earth 20 of wet to 100 of metal, which gains 4 pounds of water; one part of earth to a pound of metal, somewhat less; and cloth-shearings (cimatura) mixed with earth, measure for measure. The red-chalk writing is very faint, and a later hand has added "Inverse" at the top of the page.
