Casting recipes and a rod hung from two cords
Gypsum per pound of metal, walnut like wax; and a suspended rod with weights.
The upside-down note gives two casting proportions: 2 ounces of gypsum (plaster) to a pound of metal, and walnut [oil] that makes it similar to wax. Beside it a red-chalk drawing shows a rod suspended by two cords, annotated with the measures 3, 2 1/2, 3 - 6, 2(?), 2 1/3, with a further indeterminate figure sketched behind. The leaf is headed "libellum" in a later hand, and further faint jottings are present below the diagram.
