Spring-Driven Reels for Winding Thread and Braid
A reel holding forty braccia of thread, turning many bobbins without teeth, and tightening a braid's warp
The sheet is filled with textile machinery for winding thread: spring-loaded reels and bobbins driven by gears, drums and spindles. A central note gives the true size of reel m, which gathers forty braccia of thread, with a maximum spacing of 2 once between the threads p and q, and explains that all the pulleys can be lifted off their springs and made to turn together. Further notes describe a way to turn many bobbins without teeth and a device for tightening the warp of passementerie (braid).

The reel m that gathers forty braccia of thread
The note gives the true size of reel m, which winds up forty braccia of thread, the widest gap from one thread to the next, between threads p and q, being 2 once. It adds that all the pulleys can be drawn off their springs and, at a single stroke, made to turn their threads and be returned to their springs.
Turning many bobbins without teeth
A short caption labels one of the lower mechanisms as a way of turning many bobbins at once without using gear teeth.
Tightening the warp of passementerie
A caption identifies a device that shows how one must tighten (draw closer) the warp threads of the passementerie, the braid or trimming being woven.
Geared winding frame with spring barrels
The upper right of the sheet is dominated by a large geared frame carrying toothed wheels, coiled springs and a drum, part of the apparatus for driving the reels. Further mechanical detail is drawn but not transcribed here.
